He is<br \/>\ninterested in disentangling the enigmatic secrets hidden in large omics datasets. His research is<br \/>\nfocused on developing novel machine-learning approaches and in leveraging these approaches<br \/>\nto elucidate the basic molecular mechanism underlying cancer development and cancer<br \/>\nprogression. Jouline is the Rod Sharp Endowed Professor in the Department of Microbiology and a Co-Director of Computational Health and Life Sciences at The Ohio State University Translational Data Analytics Institute. His research focuses on the evolution of genes, including those implicated in various diseases. The computational evolutionary approaches they develop aim to reveal novel signal transduction features. HIBIT is one of the few conferences emphasizing such synergy.
